I chose the motif of eyes. "And his eyes were beginning to feel hunger, as if they must look at something, anything, everything." (Pg.41) In this passage Bradbury is saying that Guy Montag wants to know whats in the books and wants to read whats in the books. He wants to do this because he wants to understand why someone would want to die without their books.

Ok. My quote means that the kerosene is killing whatever it sprays. It is a symbol of a snake, which gives the feeling that whatever is going on is bad or evil.

Fire

"He Felt his smile slide away, melt, fold over and down on itself like tallow skin, like the stuff of a fantastic candle burning too long and now collapsing and now burned out." p12

By this quote, Bradbury means to get across that Montag has finally realized how fake his happiness is, and that his love of burning books has disappeared(His fake happiness and love of burning is symbolized by the candle)

Motif=Fire
"Montag grinned the fierce grin of all men singed and driven back by flame." 4

I think that Bradbury uses the motif in this passage by showing that fire is not only something that is feard but also it shows that people are run by fears and the fear of going against what they know.

New Technology-" The animals were turned loose. Three seconds laterthe game was done, the rat, cat, or chicken caught half way across the area anyway, gripped by gentling paws while the four inch hollow steel needle plunged down from the proboscis of the Hound to inject massive jolts of morphine or procaine. The pawn was then tossed in the incinerator"

I chose this because it shows how far technology has come to have a mechnaical dog that hunts down animals or humans and temporarily paralyzes them or it can destroy things.

"And his eyes were beginng to feel hunger, as if they must look at something, anything, everything."
(pg.41)

i chose this because you can clearly see that he is eager to find what he is looking for. Also you can picture his eyes wide and searching.
